Gotta catch’em all in Harry Myers Park!

The latest craze in the United States revolves around the new augmented reality phone App game “Pokémon Go”. While Rockwall may only be a city of around 40,000, it is still very much a part of the game. The object of the game is to SAFELY navigate your environment and catch as many creatures from the game as possible. This means you have to physically go explore your downtown, city parks, city pools, historical markers, statues, local art, etc. The possibilities are endless as to where these little Pokémon and Pokéstops could be. (A Pokéstops is a location where you can collect additional gear for free). There are a few Pokéstops and Pokémon we’ve already found in Harry Myers Park recently that you might want to check out!

Whether you’re going for a jog or exploring a park to catch Pokémon, you are still getting much needed exercise and enjoyment just from being outside. You never know what you might find when you Go Outside & Play.
Happy hunting Poké-maniacs.

A few tips if you’re playing the game:

*This will burn phone battery life so plan accordingly if you’re going to play

*Never play while driving! No Pokémon is worth having an accident that could put lives at risk.

*Watch your step when playing. In the heat of the hunt its easy to lose footing and trip.

I’m originally from Round Rock just north of Austin. I’m a 2011 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station(Whoop!). I love to be outside and probably my greatest outdoor activity would have to be fishing or camping. I like to kayak fish on Phelps Lake here in Rockwall or on Hubbard if the weather is nice.
