Why Your Kid Should Attend Spring Break ROCK Camp

by Drew Jones

Every year dozens of children participate in the City of Rockwall Parks and Recreation Spring Break ROCK Camp. Along with providing a safe and fun atmosphere we venture outside of Rockwall and explore exciting destinations throughout the week!

In the past we have explored everything from indoor trampoline parks to science museums to roller skating.  This year we are excited to go bowling, explore an indoor bounce house arena, play on ninja warrior obstacle course, and learn at a science discovery center.

Children will make new friends and create long lasting memories.  Our staff is trained to make the kids the number 1 priority and make this a fun-filled week never to forget. Some of the activities might be new to your child, but experiencing new things is great way to have fun and learn new things about yourself.

Even though a huge focus are the field trips we will be playing activities throughout the day, as well.  Kids will have a variety of activities to participate in.

Such as:

  • Sport Games
  • Board Games
  • Card Games
  • Small group activities like; spike ball, camp type games and more!
  • Large group activities like; hot foot(like dodgeball), tag, capture the flag, and more!
  • A cooking program by Chefsville
  • An interactive inflatable activity sponsored by Bounce’n’more(look for our post at the end of the week for which activity it will be!)

I have lived in the Midwest my entire life, but have lived most of it in Michigan. I attended Central Michigan University where I received my degree in Recreation. My wife and myself moved down here at the end of 2015 and love our new surroundings. I love sports and could talk about it all day. I am very active in Disc Golf and you can catch me out at Harry Myers Park Disc Golf Course.
